Windows 11 middleware leaked

Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 11 operating system has been leaked online today. After screenshots were first published on the Chinese site Baidu, the entire Windows 11 OS has appeared online, complete with a new user interface, Start menu and more. Windows 11’s new user interface and Start menu look very similar to those originally found in Windows 10X. Microsoft simplified Windows for devices with two screens, before canceling this project in favor of Windows 11. Visually, the biggest change you’ll notice can be found along the taskbar. Microsoft has tidied up the app icons here, cleaned up the tray area and included a new *cleaned* start and menu.

This updated Start Menu is a simplified version of what currently exists in Windows 10, minus the Live Tiles. It includes pinned apps, recent files, and the ability to quickly shut down or restart your Windows 11 device. It’s really simpler than what exists today in Windows 10. Microsoft also uses rounded corners throughout Windows 11. This can be seen in context menus and around applications and File Explorer. The Start menu itself also includes rounded corners. This is still an early leaked version of Windows 11, so not everything is included.

You may have noticed the new Windows 11 taskbar icon and its Widget label in the operating system. Rumors have suggested that Microsoft is bringing back Windows Widgets, and this early version seems to include some. Since this is obviously an early version of Windows 11, widgets aren’t fully loaded into the OS, but they’re designed to slide out and provide quick access to news, weather and other web content.

Although Microsoft canceled its Windows 10X operating system, the company appears to be repurposing much of that work with Windows 11. Windows 10X was originally designed for devices with two screens, before moving to traditional laptops and then being canceled. Windows 10X includes some refined and simplified aspects of Windows, and most of that work is in this leaked version of Windows 11. Windows 11 also includes new snap controls that you can access from most *filtered* across all apps. It is the modern equivalent of the multi-window functionality that has existed in operating systems for years. You can quickly dock adjacent windows or arrange them in sections on the desktop.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a big update for the Windows Store yet. Since this is an early leaked build, it’s possible that the update that Microsoft has planned has yet to appear. The Windows Store interface is largely the same as it is now in Windows 10, with access to all the same apps available today.

Microsoft has reportedly been working on a new Windows app store in recent months, and rumors suggest it will be a big change from what exists today. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has promised to open up greater economic opportunities for developers and creators with Windows, and that could come in the form of new stores. Microsoft is reportedly overhauling its Windows app store to enable developerssubmit any Windows application, including browsers such as Chrome or Firefox. Microsoft could also consider allowing third-party in-app trading platforms, allowing developers to avoid the cut Microsoft typically takes from the in-app purchase system.

On the other hand, Microsoft has also included a new setup experience in Windows 11. Very similar to Windows 10X, users using new hardware or those upgrading to Windows 11 go through several steps to configure Windows. This incredible experience also includes the new Windows 11 startup sound, which is then activated on every boot. Microsoft has also improved the Xbox experience in Windows 11. The new Xbox app is now integrated into Windows 11, offering quick access to Xbox Game Pass games, the Xbox social network and the Xbox Store. The Xbox Game Bar and Windows Game Mode remain the same as Windows 10 in this leaked early build.

Microsoft has hinted that it is ready to launch Windows 11. The software giant is holding a special Windows event to reveal its next OS on June 24. The event starts at 11 a.m. ET, and invitations to the event include a window that creates a shadow with an outline that looks like the number 11. Microsoft’s executive office has also been teasing the announcement of the next generation of Windows for months, and this leak now confirms that Windows 11 will be officially announced at the end of this month.
