There is Willard Russell, a tortured murderer in the South Pacific, who cannot save his beautiful wife, Charlotte, from dying from cancer, no matter how much blood of the victim he sheds in his ‘prayer log’. There are Carl and Sandy Henderson, a team of male and female serial killers, who travel the streets of America in search of suitable models to photograph and destroy. There is a spider operator Roy spider and a friend who plays lame virtuoso guitarist Theodore who is running away from the law. And at the heart of it all is Arvin Eugene Russell, an orphan of Willard and Charlotte, who grows up to be a kind but cruel man too.
